Keto pork chops in a butter garlic sauce
Pork chops are a tasty meal that can quickly be thrown together to make a whole meal. For this recipe, I am using bone-in pork chops, but you can also use boneless cuts to make this easy family dinner recipe.
If you want to make this meal, but do not have pork or simply do not like pork you can also make this recipe using chicken breasts or thighs.
You may have to simmer your sauce a little longer to thicken since the chicken will release more juice, but your meal will still turn out delicious.
Seasoning

Seasoning your pork chops before cooking them is key to making a tasty pork chop. You will want to generously season your meat, but don't go too heavy on the salt since bone-in pork naturally has a saltier flavor.
Keep your seasoning simple when making pork chops. I will usually add basic seasonings like salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and onion powder to my meat. Be sure to cover both sides of your meat with your seasoning.

Cooking
Now that your meat is seasoned it's time to start cooking.
Place a large skillet on the stove on high heat. When the pan is hot melt your butter and add minced garlic to the pan. Saute the garlic for a few seconds, just long enough to make it fragrant, then arrange the pork chops in your skillet.
Sear your pork chops for a few minutes on both sides. Since you are cooking the meat in hot butter the outside of your pork chops will become crispy and golden.

Butter garlic sauce
What is the best sauce for pork chops? Quick and easy butter garlic sauce of course. The best part, the sauce cooks with your pork chops in one pot.
Once your pork chops are crispy and golden it is time to make your garlic butter sauce. Add your broth, lemon juice, and cream to your pan. Move your pork chops around to mix the ingredients in.
Bring the liquid to a boil and then reduce the heat to medium. If you want to add a vegetable to the pan now is the time. I like to add chopped asparagus to the pan as a delicious low-carb side.
Let your sauce and pork chops simmer uncovered for 7-10 minutes or until your sauce thickens. If your pork chops finish cooking before the sauce thickens, remove the pork chops and set them aside until your sauce has finished thickening.

How to serve pork chops
When your sauce is done serve the porks with the vegetable on the side and drizzle a spoonful or two of the sauce over your meat and vegetables.
Any leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator to be eaten for lunch the next day. This meal is also perfect for meal prepping lunches for the week. Enjoy!

I don't know what I'm missing because no one else asked this question but I don't see where the recipe tells the amount of Italian seasoning to use.
Rachel Groff
Thank you for pointing that out Janet. You would want to use 1 tsp Italian seasoning, but you could use more or less to fit your tastes. I have updated the recipe to show the measurement.
Natasha Rikley
Hi I am going to try this recipe tomorrow, but I track my calories as well and that wasn’t specified. Do u know how many calories are in that meal?
Rachel Groff
Hi Natasha, if you scroll to the bottom of the recipe you will be able to find the calories per serving in the nutritional facts. Enjoy!

This was delicious!

Fantastic recipe… tastiest way to cook pork chops I know! Onion powder is well worth searching out as it really enhances the flavour but seems quite salty so I no longer salt the chops before cooking. I’ve added spring onions and garlic shoots (when I can find them) to the sauce, both work well.
Carmen
Made this for dinner with cauliflower rice. Will make again.
Tara
What an amazing recipe! Definitely restaurant worthy! Will add this to my rotation, for sure!
Lynn
I made the pork chops tonight for dinner. They were very flavorful but definitely not tender. Suggestions? I added some frozen asparagus for the last few minutes - what a great idea. Delicious!
Libby Jenkinson
Pork chops can easily go tough if accidentally cooked for too long. This is because the meat is quite low fat, despite the high fat in the pork rind, but fat is not generally throughout the actual meat itself. Next time, don't fry the pork chops for too long before adding the sauce ingredients. Test a pork chop once you think it is ready to ensure it is cooked then immediately remove them from the heat.
Roberta
This recipe came out juicy and mouthwatering also using pork tenderlion instead of chops (since I had that cut tprepared by my butcher to cook from an excess of a roast I cooked in the oven): tender, ideal for those who needs something softer under the teeth like our grannies 😉
Libby Jenkinson
I love the sound of your butcher, what a gem!
James
Really tasty and easy to cook!
Margaret
Well smother me in garlic butter and call me a pork chop! This is hands down the best pork chop recipe I have EVER made. And I don't even have to think what to serve with pork because the side dish is all cooked in the one pan meal!
Libby Jenkinson
Oh, Margaret, you have just made my day with your recipe review. Thank you.

Couldn’t get past the type-o of calling it chicken juice instead of pork…
Libby Jenkinson
I'm a bit lost, I can't see this typo. There is an area that discusses how to use this recipe for chicken breast instead of pork and that is where I discuss how much juice renders out when you cook chicken and how to thicken the sauce accordingly.
Anne
This recipe was delicious! I made it with mushrooms and green beans and everyone loved it!
Libby Jenkinson
Thank you for the wonderful feedback Anne, this recipe for keto pork chops really is a firm family favourite in hour house.
Paula
I made this for supper tonight and followed the recipe and suggestions from the article and it turned out wonderfully!!!! The family raved over it! Will do it again!!!!!!

Perfect. Thank you. I never cook asparagus
right no matter how many recipes or tips I have tried. I followed this recipe and,,,perfection. My pork chops are flavorful and asparagus perfect. I am going to use this recipe for many things to come.🥰
Bev
Made this tonight and it was delish! Only problem I had is that my garlic burned after adding it to the butter on high heat. Will probably sauté garlic separately and add to dish after adding broth and cream next time. Loved it though!
Kathy
I made this tonight using boneless chicken thighs and it was so good!! My husband raved about it and said to serve this the next time we have company over for dinner! I can't wait to make it with pork chops.

Oh wow, I am absolutely thrilled that the keto pork chops have passed the test and are good enough to serve for a dinner party. P.S. Where' my invitation? 😉

Is onion powder available in NZ. Can only find garlic powder
Libby www.ditchthecarbs.com
You can use onion powder or onion flakes. I manage to find mine in New World supermarket, however, the onion flakes tend to be easier to find for some reason.
Gail
This is by FAR the best pork chops I have ever had. This recipe definitely does not feel like you are missing out on anything!!
Marcia
I’ve made this several times and the sauce is different every time. Tonight it never thickened. Do you have any suggestions for the sauce when it’s runny?
Libby Jenkinson
Hi Marcia. I believe the difference in the thickness of the sauce is due to the difference in how much moisture comes out of the pork chops as they cook. It is called plumping (you can read in this article what is meat plumping). If the sauce is too runny, you can either allow the sauce to simmer for longer to evaporate and thicken, you could add some cream cheese to make the sauce thicker, or you can add a small pinch of xanthan gum and whisk gently to prevent any lumps. I hope these tips help.

I pinned and printed out this recipe, and I am making this tonight! Thank you.
But I have one question. Do I have to "Add your broth, lemon juice, and cream to your man"? or can I just use a pan? Ha ha. Seriously though, this looks super yummy.
Libby www.ditchthecarbs.com
Oh my word, that is too funny. Maybe he likes swimming in broth, lemon and cream? But yeah, you're wise to use a pan ?
Lin
My garlic burned swimming in the butter… in the cast iron pan ….and turned everything black. I think you should sauté and remove it from the butter… and save till later.
I might try this again, but I’ll sauté my chops first and my garlic.
It’s was just ok.
Mary
Add your broth, lemon juice, and cream to your man.. lol funny typo these look and sound delish
Libby www.ditchthecarbs.com
Whoops, I just saw and corrected that. I just like to test if you're reading my posts ?
