Meet the Team
Founder and CEO
As a registered pharmacist, Health Coach, mother of 3, and busy mum, I am in the unique position of being able to understand the science behind low-carb nutrition and translate it into easy, practical steps, with a family.
Once I discovered the incredible health benefits of low-carb, ketogenic, and whole-food nutrition, I left her 25-year career as a pharmacist and have dedicated my time entirely to helping readers regain their health through low-carb nutrition.
I believe I have helped more people regain their health through whole food and low-carb nutrition in the past few years than in my entire 25-year career dispensing medication.
My career as a pharmacist spans 25 years and includes roles such as:

As Ditch The Carbs has continued to grow, so has my amazing small but mighty global team who help me produce, create, manage and share content.
All our recipes are first and foremost based on whole foods that are also low-carb, sugar-free, gluten-free, grain-free, seed-oil free, soy-free, and many are keto, dairy-free, Paleo, Primal, Carnivore, and egg-free.

She loves to help clients find a fun and rewarding relationship with exercise. Sigrid's background is in public health, research, and is the director of TeamYou Health.
Katherine Froggatt-Ong is a Certified Health Coach, she facilitates a diabetes program, she's currently training to become a mental health coach, and also owns and operates Coriander Lime Kitchen cooking school. Katherine is a breast cancer survivor, diagnosed in 2016, and is fortunate to be in complete remission.

Dr. Joanne McCormack, GP in 2016 won an award from the Royal College of General Practitioners for her low-carb approach and her “Food As Medicine” course for health professionals and patients alike. She is a founder member of the Public Health Collaboration in the UK and teaches people to change their behaviour (when they are ready) via small groups, via Zoom and Whatsapp.

Kelly Pounds RN, Low Carb Diabetes Educator. Kelley is a registered nurse, certified diabetes educator, and certified insulin pump trainer that conducts a very successful diabetes education program in her community, specifically working with patients that have been unable to achieve their blood glucose and A1c goals with standard advice (Type 1 and Type 2).
Michael Joseph, founder of Nutrition Advance. Michael works as a nutrition educator and holds a Master’s degree in Nutrition Education.
Brittanie Volk, Ph.D., RD is a registered dietitian and low-carb researcher on the Clinical Education Team at Virta Health. Brittanie remains dedicated to patient education and engagement for the translation of the science of low-carb nutrition into real-world application to help people achieve and sustain better health.
